GOANNA STORY/ WARDAPI JUKURRPA

This goanna laid some eggs in a hollow at a place called Yarumayi just south of Yuleamu. She left that nest and while she was gone ladies came looking for goanna eggs but they found ochre instead. Those goanna eggs had turned into ochre. That ochre is there still and we use it for ceremony. My father’s brother, used to paint this story. I learnt that story from him, and now it's my story to paint
