Glorine Nungarrayi Martin

Glorine is Anmatyerr and Warlpiri from Yuelamu, Northern Territory Australia. Glorine comes into the art centre and paints every day. She is helping to set up the new art centre.

Born here in Yuelamu (Mt Allan) in the 60’s then we moved to Yuendumu and lived there. School at Yuendumu. Went to Yirara for high school. Then back to Yuendumu and started working at the literacy centre at the school. I started painting in 1990’s at Warlukurlangu (art Centre) right up until 2000. I like doing paintings, it’s really good. I have 5 children, 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. I moved to Yuelamu in 2004 and was doing private paintings. I moved back here because Yuelamu is a good place to live. I came back to the country.
Glorine’s paints Goanna, eagle, women with coolamon and digging sticks and bush onion Anengkerr (dreaming). Wakurlba north of Yuendumu is the place for eagle Anengkerr (dreaming)
