Yarla Jukurrpa (Bush potato Dreaming)

$1,475.00

Napaljarri and Nungarrayi women are digging for bush potato at Kurrdawurru (north of Yuendumu). People can eat yarla when they are cooked in the fire. In the painting the "U" shaped figures represent the women with digging sticks (karlangu) and cooliman (parraja). The wavy lines represent yatura (roots) spreading out and the concentric circle is the plant. The Jukurrpa (dreaming) belongs to Nungarrayi and Napaljarri women and Japaljarri and Jungarrayi men.
