Mer (Country)

This painting depicts my Country.  This is my traditional and ancestral place.  ‘Country’ for the Anmatyerr is everything and many paintings represent elements of this.  Country is interconnected relationship with the environment, encompassing all living things, cultural practices, spiritual beliefs, identity and a sense of, inheritance, and economy.   It's a living entity that is both a place of belonging and a source of cultural knowledge and responsibility.
