Lisa is Anmatyerr from Yuelamu, Northern Territory Australia. Lisa grew up watching her father, who was a well-known painter, work. Lisa has an adult son and looks after three grandchildren. Lisa comes into the art studio every day working to establish the new Inkwareny Artists of Yuelamu. Anmatyerre’s people’s vision is to have their own art studio and gallery that will strengthen and share culture. Lisa’s painting style is a little bit magical coming from very good knowledge of country and hunting. She is inspired by the Anmatyerr country plants and animals. Lisa paints Ankara Anengkerr (emu dreaming), Kwaty Anengkerr (water dreaming) and Anek Anengkerr (bush potato dreaming).
